: U.S. to ease travel ban for vaccinated passengers from EU, U.K., reports say

Vaccinated travelers from the European Union and the United Kingdom will be able to enter the United States beginning in November, the Biden administration will announce Monday, according to several news reports.

The policy shift will end an 18-month blanket ban on travelers from the region imposed by former President Donald Trump towards the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under current policy, only American citizens, their immediate families and green card holders can travel from the EU or U.K. to the U.S.

Airline stocks rose in the wake of the news, with shares of International Consolidated Airlines Group

the owner of British Airways, up more than 10% in London. U.S.-traded shares of Air France-KLM
AFLYY,
+6.22%

were up 5.8%, while American Airlines Group Inc.
AAL,
+0.81%

stock traded about 2% higher.
