: Tiger Woods isn’t the most wagered-on golfer at the Masters, unlike last year. See who is.

Tiger Woods was by far the most wagered-on golfer at the 2022 Masters, despite missing time after a car accident in 2021. But at this year’s tournament, he’s no longer the darling of bettors.

Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm are; people are placing the most bets, and wagering the most money on, them to win this year’s tournament at Augusta National Golf Club, according to DraftKings

Scheffler, McIlroy and Rahm are also the top three ranked golfers in the world, in that order. Scheffler is the reigning Masters champion, while McIlroy and Rahm have never won the tournament.

Woods is tied for fifth as the most wagered-on player to win the Masters, but has just the 31st-best odds to win, a large schism compared to other players.

The odds for Woods to win the Masters is +9000, which carries an implied probability of 1.1% — meaning he has a 1.1% chance of winning the tournament.

A $10 bet on Woods would lead to a huge payout of $900. A $10 bet on Scheffler would net $65, a $10 bet on McIlroy would net $75 and that same bet on Rahm would net $85.

Due to his combined popularity and the long odds, a Woods win on Sunday would likely be a major loss for sportsbooks. Woods represents DraftKings’s biggest liability at the Masters, meaning that a win would lead to more losses at the sportsbook than any other player.

“Whether I’m a threat to them or not, who knows?” Woods said this week. “People probably didn’t think I was a threat in 2019, either, but it kind of turned out OK.”
