Nicole Richie and her husband, Joel Madden, have purchased a swanky Beverly Hills estate for $10.15 million, Dirt reported.
The 6,165-square-foot mansion was featured in Architectural Digest last year after it was redone by Simo Design, and features eye-catching decor and stylish spaces.
Located in a guard-gated community, the upscale abode offers “style and substance,” according to the listing.
Built in 1987, the home sold in 2018 for $6,185,000 million. The snazzy overhaul was completed in 2019 and then photographed for AD last year.
The owner-slash-designers were drawn to the property for its “sheer scale along with unique spaces and details,” according to the feature in AD.
After the home’s makeover, they placed their masterpiece on the market in 2020 for $13 million, before quickly dropping the asking price to $12.4 million.
When that slice failed to net a buyer, the home’s asking price dipped to just under $12 million at the end of 2020. This March, the home’s price was dropped yet again to $11 million, which finally coaxed the celeb buyers off the sidelines.
Spread over 6,165 square feet, the floor plan includes five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The listing also describes the home as “a taste of Paris meets Beverly Hills,” referring to the intricate millwork, wide-plank oak floors, and lime-washed walls.
Set behind 24-hour guard gates, the property offers an exclusive and private setting. It is entered through a motor court. Inside the dramatic dwelling, you can see an upscale kitchen with marble counters. That room adjoins a family and dining area that lead out to the backyard.
Other spaces include a library and office with built-ins and a dramatic black marble fireplace.
The bedroom opens out to a terrace overlooking the pool, and the en suite bathroom features marble everything.
Outside, the private grounds include a terrace off the dining room that leads down to the pool, spa, and sundeck. The property also comes with a three-car garage.
Previously, the couple had lived nearby, but had sold their place to their long-time neighbor Adele for $10 million, in an off-market deal reported by Dirt.
Before their move to Beverly Hills, the couple owned a delightfully quirky midcentury modern abode in Laurel Canyon that they sold in 2015 for $2.67 million.
Richie grabbed the spotlight with a starring role in the reality show “The Simple Life,” alongside Paris Hilton. She founded her own fashion and lifestyle brand, House of Harlow, and has appeared in the TV competition shows “ Fashion Star” and “Making the Cut.” She had an acting gig on the sitcom “Great News.”
Madden, the frontman and lead vocalist for the pop punk band Good Charlotte, has also served as judge for the Australian version of “The Voice.”
Drew Fenton with Hilton & Hyland represented the sellers. Brett Lawyer, also with Hilton & Hyland, brought the buyers.
