Dow Jones Newswires: Coursera shares surge after Q2 revenue growth, raised outlook

were rising in the after-hours session Thursday, following the company’s release of second-quarter financial results which showed revenue growing in the period.

The company also raised some guidance.

At 7:15 p.m. ET, the online learning platform’s shared had gained 12.9%, to $14.69 each. The stock ended the day’s regular session with a 2.3% loss, closing at $13.01 a share.

After the bell, Coursera reported a second-quarter loss per share of 21 cents on revenue of $153.7 million. In the year-ago period, the company reported a loss per share of 34 cents on revenue of $124.7 million.

The company said it raised its 2023 revenue outlook midpoint by $15 million, to $620 million. Coursera said it now expects 2023 revenue if a range of $617 million to $623 million.

For the third quarter, Coursera said it was expecting revenue in a range of $156 million to $160 million.
