A year after Carlos Santana, the legendary rocker, purchased a serene retreat on the island of Kauai, HI, he’s changed his tune. The hilltop abode in Princeville, HI, is now back on the market for $4,795,000. The harmonious home has already generated offers and is listed in “contingent” status.
The guitar god may be taking advantage of the hot Hawaii housing market. He purchased the home last October for $3.8 million and stands to pocket a hefty profit from the sale.
It’s easy to see the appeal.
Kauai getaway
Built in 2004 by the Kauai-based architect Gary Tobey, the two-story, 4,386-square-foot home features four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and walls of glass that open on ocean views.
The large, open-concept living and dining area have sliding glass doors that lead out to covered patios and extend the living space outside. The space also incorporates built-ins and a wet bar. Luxe details include skylights, teak details, and travertine floor tiles.
A chef’s kitchen and dining nook offer ocean views and top-of-the-line appliances.
Set on a third of an acre, the grounds feature an infinity pool and spa just off the main lanai. Lush landscaping starts at the front door. Other outdoor perks include two outdoor showers, as well as a built-in outdoor barbecue area.
North Shore hot spot
If you missed the chance to grab this great property, not to worry. Santana, 74, has another North Shore property to show you.
As we previously reported, Santana recently put his $12.9 million vacation home above Anini Beach on the market. Perched high above the ocean, the elegant island estate was also the architect Tobey’s work.
Owners will enjoy a gourmet kitchen, a spacious private master bedroom suite, three private guest bedrooms, high ceilings, and ample natural light.
Outside, a luxurious infinity pool and spa overlook the ocean.
The guitarist bought the 4,000-square-foot abode on over 3 acres in 2018, but has since upgraded to an even roomier residence.
So after picking up a $20.5 million property about a mile away, he placed the smaller contemporary pad on the market in August. It’s still available for $12.9 million.
Marin County mansion
The singer has been on a real estate roll of late. He had another hit on his hands when he quickly sold his long-time Marin County home for $5.52 million, after about a month on the market.
He purchased the Tiburon gem in 2002, for $1,658,000. He had been asking $5.7 million for the residence, but still came out far ahead.
A longtime resident of Northern California, he has since left the Bay Area, and now reportedly splits his time between Hawaii and Las Vegas.
The 10-time Grammy winner has produced hits for decades, including the award-winning “Smooth,” and the albums “Abraxas” and “Supernatural.”
