Dear Quentin,

I was reading

your recent letters regarding inheritance and favoritism, and they were very interesting. I would like to change the perspective a little bit, while staying on the same topic: I have a big issue with inheriting anything from my parents.

My parents, my sister and I — a middle-aged woman — are from overseas, but I’ve lived in the U.S. for more than half of my life. They went back to live there. I never got along with my mother. I have given her so many chances to correct herself, but she never has.
